President's Letter

Hello to My Southern Family,

What a wonderful year this has been. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have served you as President this past year. It truly has been an honor. I have learned a lot, made many friends along this journey that will last a lifetime, and I have become a better person because of it. Sending a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you for supporting me and the board throughout this year.

Thank you to the entire board of directors of the Southern Chapter. You have been anamazing board. Thank you for your guidance, advice, help and for all the time you sacrificed and the countless hours of zoom calls you made to ensure Southern continues to grow and move forward.

Best of luck to Jody McLeod AIFD our incoming president. I know you will do great and will continue to take Southern to the next level.

I have thoroughly enjoyed our Sweet Tea Talks with Southern Chapter and getting to know you all a little better. This has been a very useful tool in helping us reconnect in a time that has kept us at a distance. Hopefully we will continue having them in the future.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at Roots Symposium in Las Vegas in July! I can’t wait to see all of you in person and to reconnect with my floral family again. We have 9 inductees this year and 8 CFDs that we will be welcoming into our Southern family.

Our Southern Chapter members meeting will take place on July 5 @ 9:00am. Make sure to mark your calendars and attend. Also, we will have a table at Partners this year. If you have ordered a shirt or an apron, you can pick up your items at our table. If you have not had a chance to order a shirt or an apron, we will have a few available to purchase. All the proceeds from our sales will go towards continuing education.

We as a board would love to hear from you. If you have any ideas or suggestions on ways, we can continue to support our industry, please feel free to reach out to any one of us. Also, if you have ever considered being a part of the board, we would love to have you as well. And just a reminder CFDs can serve on a committee. Don’t be afraid to get involved, we are ready and waiting for YOU!
